when the status quo frustrates.

This Christmas, why not give the gift of cultural imperialism?

This was at Whole Foods.

Quoth someone who works there and shall remain nameless: “What the fuck? They put those out? I hid them in the back of the store room. I should have just thrown them away.”

I’d buy it, mostly because my psychological defense mechanism against this weird world is humor, and as such this thing is HILARIOUS!

    TRH

Unfortunately, those “toys with integrity” aren’t cheap. I think that one costs $34.99, which IMO is a rather steep price to pay for ironic humor.

I think I just blew my anonymity. Oh well.

The name “vision quest” implies that these friendly natives are having a psychedelic experience, which contributes to the overall racist tone of this toy. Bleh.

Perhaps we should all write to the ImagiPLAY’s PR person and let her know what we think.

This would be a good candidate for the StuffWhitePeopleLike website. That is, a politically correct manger scene sold at…wait for it…Whole Foods, the ultimate PlaceWhitePeopleLike. The thing is doubly or triply ironic.
