Weekend Fluff

Using your browser URL history to estimate gender
Oh yeah, I thought–it’s not like I frequent a bunch of G-I-R-L-Y sites–
Apparently I am more gendered than I thought though.

ALL those gaming sites have a female skew?
Aww, it won’t let me post my results what with the links and all. I got 100% female! WTF! and my sites are mostly like isohunt, google, worldofwarcraft, imeem, fstdt and wikipedia. I think it was the wellsfargo, target and olympics that might have kicked it over, but still…
I’m 68% male, which that ain’t right…and I can’t see how this deal is meant to work. Women check the weather and men read the news?
51% female, 49% male. That sounds about right.
Hmmm.
I got 50/50 but no site list…maybe it wasn’t working right.
I think most surprising is that CNN.com is pretty heavily gender-slanted. Wtf?
Thene, I think maybe you don’t browse the right sites.
My sitelist only had gmail and boingboing:
After I deleted BoingBoing since I’ve only ever read it a couple of times, I got.
Small sample size makes for wild guesses, clearly.
Or more likely I’m being stupid above and it was barely working for me either.
