Historical perspective note: My boyfriend first watched this three or four years ago when he was in Kuwait, waiting to be sent on to Iraq.
Wow. I enjoyed that way, way more than I expected to. Angry metal that’s angry about all the right things– who knew? Not me, at least. Thanks for exposing me to something I never would have tried out otherwise.
Actually social protest is a big theme for metal…I’m really glad someone liked the video, though, it’s one of my all-time favorites.
I guess I was just always discounting metal in the same way that mainstream culture has always discounted punk. My bad!
