He might be able to make a living, but I'm not sure he could make a killing. I don't think anybody who works for Jim Rose or displays for modern gawkers makes a killing either, but I could be wrong.

I dunno, Sera. While you certainly can't tour an old-school style freakshow, there's still things like Jim Rose's little troupe, and if that's too classy for you, not everyone is above simply gawking at the disabled PT Barnum-style. I bet if he wanted to make a killing out of having no legs, he could find an agent to help him do so.

You know, as a lover of freakshows and sideshows, the first thing I think when I see a dude without legs is "Poor guy could've struck it rich/famous if he'd only been born before we started to question the ethics of displaying the anatomically weird." Then I wonder what he'd think about freakshows- I mean, he has no legs, so it must have occurred to him.

I have to admit, I would probably stare at a guy with no legs. It's just not something I see very often. Although maybe "stare" isn't an entirely correct word to describe what I'd do, "startled double-take" might be more accurate. However, if I made eye contact, I'd be sure to smile, so hopefully I wouldn't come off as Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel. "Hey Ma, lookit that feller what ain't got no legs!"
