Now, the newest version of America: The Book is the teachers edition, and features actual facts scribbled into the margins meaning that America: The Book may now feature more facts than the average grade school social studies text.
Did you see Stewart’s interview with the author of Religious Literacy? There was a brilliant moment in which he pointed out such a book should be required reading for politicians, and the author was like, “Yeah, it would be good if they knew something about foreign relations.”
Stewart was like, “Hold up, let’s think about that statement. It is absolutely true. Nevertheless, let us consider the situation of a country in which such a thing needs to be explicitly stated.”
