Hey, don’t knock it if it is educational. My sister-in-law would have found this useful. She had to call my mother and ask her how one knows when water is boiling. She was 25 at the time.

I have to admit, the bottom one really explained to me why my first sewing project (a wrap skirt) took all weekend and fell apart in the wash.

“At some point in your life, you’ll have to make scalloped cauliflower”

No, no I wont. That scalloped cauliflower looked completely disgusting.

I didn’t watch it all the way through, but “Are You Ready For Marriage?” seemed to be giving reasonable advice. I’m not sure why the wife in the first one was making chocolate cake for dinner though.

Oh, it’s not the advice that’s funny. It’s the way it’s presented that makes it hilarious. Although if you notice in the marriage one, the part where they’re talking about changing “I” to “we” features a slow close-up of a thoughtful girl, which I found kind of suggestive. And the shit like “At some point in your life, you’ll have to make scalloped cauliflower” that Sarah noted.

Actually, some of the advice is the are you ready for marriage video didn’t set well with me, but for the most part it was OK.

Y’all aren’t the first to make fun of ‘Are You Ready For Marriage?’; anyone who’s familiar with Mystery Science Theater 3000 will be happy to know they did a short (about eighteen minutes’ worth, counting one of the better skits) of it, and anyone who’s not familiar — well, you’ve got a real treat in store.

The short’s on Youtube: part one, part two.

Did that minister actually say “Boing?”
