Be a militia of one. GoMilitia.com

The 2nd Amendment is on it’s way to a Supreme Court reviewin’; the first in about 70 years.

In a case that could shape firearms laws nationwide, attorneys for the District of Columbia argued Thursday that the Second Amendment right to bear arms applies only to militias, not individuals.

I’m normally fairly liberal, but this is retarded. I have nothing against resonable gun restrictions, but citizens need to be able to own firearms, if nothing else than to be a check against government power. Plus, I like to shoot.

  2. Kyso Kisaen says:

I doubt anything anti-gun will come of this. I hope the Supreme Court actually hears it, because it sounds like there’s some great issues buried in this militia thing, but I’d be shocked and amazed if the SC ruled in DC’s favor on this one.

  3. Dykonoclast says:

As much as I hate firearms, I hate even more the idea that they might be the only ones to have them. Please, please please not let anything come from this case.

P is a popular letter so the list is longish. As always, check it out: bad links? Let me know. A super-find you are very happy to discover? I’d like to know. A grave omission? Tell me in the comments………

  5. I don’t like having this right be determined on a state by state basis, because that sets an uncomfortable precedent.
