Baghdad collapse

Via State of the Day, total failure in Iraq is upon us:

Sunni insurgents have cut the roads linking the city to the rest of Iraq. The country is being partitioned as militiamen fight bloody battles for control of towns and villages north and south of the capital.

[...]

The scale of killing is already as bad as Bosnia at the height of the Balkans conflict. An apocalyptic scenario could well emerge - with slaughter on a massive scale. As America prepares its exit strategy, the fear in Iraq is of a genocidal conflict between the Sunni minority and the Shias in which an entire society implodes.

Regardless of what strategy we undertake from here on out, responsibility for all of this past/present/future death lies solely at the feet of the USA.

We are not the world’s policeman. We are the world’s Scarface.

I just had a mental picture of Cheney saying, “Say hello to my li’l friend!!!”, but then I realized Cheney only has a big codpiece in his mind. He talks tough and then weasels out (just like “The Chimperor”)…

    Now Lynn Cheney…

At this point, I can’t help but wonder if withdrawal is inevitable—and I think it is—isn’t every day we’re there just escalating the killing?

This picture was on the front of the NY Times Monday. To say we’re throwing good money after bad does not capture the absolute waste of all this.

You’re forgetting the cost per head calculations for Haliburton though, a trained economist should really do the calaculation but at a rough estimate, using a ball park figure…

going by a rough estimate of the current cost of the iraq war at $338,923,000,000, and taking it as given that only half of that is going directly into the various parasitic war business’ pockets, then divide that halved figure by the median estimate for total iraq war casulaties at 300,000, then the total cost per head will be something like $1,129,743 per iraqi killed.

Now do you see why we can’t withdraw! Imagine all that tax payer money being spent on disaster relief or the rebuilding of New Orleans or schools or to pay off the national debt and eventually the Boomer’s SS short fall or used for foriegn aid or for any worthwhile and sane purpose huh!?

Do you think Dick Cheney’s Platinum covered pacemakers, or bush’s specially imported amazonian brush, just grows on trees? Or And what about Jim Guckert? Or any NRO wingnut? What will they do for food, huh?
