Not just him, you know – don’t let the brains behind all of this let their figurehead take their share of the shit. You don’t do this kind of damage without lots and lots of talented help.

    Gave me chills.

Even one pointless death is horrifying enough if you actually sit and think about it. It may be impossible to grasp many more than that, really– it just becomes numbers after a certain point. Given that every supposed rationale for this war has proven completely half-baked… even if there were only a single innocent child among these unimaginable numbers (say, #17,502), I wish that every chickenhawk who led us into this crazy fiasco would stop and reflect on the fact that they supported that child’s death.

Anyway, Marc, thank you for the perspective.

the chickenhawks are the epitome of the vici french though, they’ll give up any number of jews as long as they’re going to be nominally safe and in charge of france.

Some children here or there… what do they care? they got there’s, screw everyone else.

Now if even one bag of cheetohs was damaged in the war… why they’d be spinning on their finely polished chairs against the war faster than you can say pacifist activism.

    They have priorities after all.

Wow. Brilliant, devestating, eye-opening and depressing as all hell. Well done, Marc.

Wow. I get it now in a way I didn’t before.

I can just imagine if you had counted to the real number.

  7. anon says:

only surprised you didn’t include the number of casualties in the US military in iraq as well. kudos to the post, great perspective. chilling.

  8. KathyF says:

A couple of years ago I tried to find the number of innocent civilians killed in Afghanistan, and a conservative estimate was 4000, which struck me since it was still more than were killed on 9/11.

  9. plucky punk says:

Holy shit. I seriously started to get teary-eyed while scrolling through those numbers.

(And I had no idea that many people died in the battle of Gettysburg.)

  10. [...] Punkass Marc has a post that puts the 30,000 Iraqi dead that Bush will admit to (vs. the 650,000 of a recent estimate) into perspective. [...]

  11. AMAZING, great post !!

  12. Heliologue says:

I’m sure it works out if you use conservative math, wherein

1 white person working at WTC = 3 mostly poorly or minority army recruits = 10 foreign brown people

  13. Dave says:

Its crazy to watch the numbers fly down the screen. Its too bad there is not a hell, cause Bush and his lackie would FRY!
