The U.S. military shot down a target ballistic missile over the Pacific on Friday in the widest test of its emerging anti-missile shield in 18 months, the Defense Department announced.

  1. I wouldn’t be so confident if I were you. The test was postponed because of fog over Kodiak Island, and so after spending billions of dollars we’ve achieved something that might be useful if it’s a nice day out and you have the enemy’s exact missile coordinates in advance.

    I feel so much safer now.

    And, in earlier tests, they had a transponder on the warhead. In tests of decoys, they used decoys which *did not* resemble the warhead. As opposed to everybody else in the world, who favor decoys which *do* resemble the warhead.
