Published by punkass marc July 30th, 2006Panicky House Republicans tried to scam an easy win on all sides by tying estate tax relief to a minimum wage hike:
Critics say the House deal, linking an increase in the minimum wage with a sharp reduction of the estate tax, is aimed at two groups at opposite ends of the economic spectrum. The minimum wage hike will help some 6.6 million beneficiaries with an average dollar benefit of $1,200. The estate tax cut will benefit some 8,200 people with an average dollar benefit of $1.4 million, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) in Washington.
Well, c’mon, that’s only fair. I mean, they’re offering to hike the min wage to *over seven dollars an hour” (phased in over two years). What more do people want? Free cheese? Sheeesh. Some people are so *greedy.*
Heh, are we back to governmant cheese?
Anyway, of course we have to help out the wealthy while we help out the poor. The poor need the help, and the wealthy don’t need it. It makes perfect fucking sense! If you are drinking the Kool-Aid, that is. Come on guys! It’s fruit punch!
